Turmeric is good for Everything

If you are alive and have any access to the internet you have probably been hearing a lot about turmeric and what it can do for you.

I have to say all the buzz is completely justified. There is a reason why it is called the ‘queen’ of spices. Turmeric is not only good for your health but is also a great beauty product.

So I thought I would help introduce the main benefits of Turmeric for your health and how you can also incorporate it into your beauty routine.

But first, what does Turmeric look like? Most of us know Turmeric in its powder form (which you have to be very careful with, a stain with turmeric is a stain for life!!). It’s the yellow powder that we add to out homemade curries. When it is fresh Turmeric looks a lot like ginger and is mainly grown inAsia. It has very powerful anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties amongst many others so it is no surprise that it is so popular and has so many uses.

So what are the main heart benefits of Turmeric?

Anti-inflammatory- Turmeric fights inflammation on a molecular level which makes it better than many of the anti-inflammatory drugs out there.

Heals wounds- Turmeric is a very powerful antiseptic. It has been used to aid healing for centuries. If you have a cut, sprinkling some turmeric on it will help it to heal faster.

Aids scalp conditions- The antiseptic and antibacterial qualities of Turmeric make it perfect to deal with scalp conditions, including dandruff, eczema, and alopecia.

There are many many more amazing health benefits of Turmeric, but as I mentioned Turmeric can also be an incredible tool to add to your beauty repertoire.

Here are some of the ways that you can use Turmeric in your beauty routine:

Reduces wrinkles- Turmeric mixed with certain ingredients can work wonders for your wrinkles. A great one to try would be mixing turmeric with buttermilk and use it around your eyes. This will not only help smooth out wrinkles but also will help reduce dark circles.

Your first reaction to this can be: No, Turmeric on my face? but do no worry, it won’t stain your face like it does fabrics or plastic!

Treat stretch marks- Mixing turmeric with yoghurt will help to lighten existing stretch marks… so if you know someone that had their bump stretch too much during pregnancy, this could be an excellent recommendation.

Treating Acne- Turmeric can help with acne reduction as well as getting rid of old scars left by acne.

So as you can see Turmeric is a great thing to have around the house, it’s great for cooking, healing and making yourself feel and look great!
