Why is it the best?
Well, that is easy… It’s the best because you make it into whatever you like best! And there is nothing better than sprinkling your favourite things on chocolate.
Below I have given you 3 choices of how I like to make my own, but again the more creative you get with these the better they will be. I would recommend going for healthy organic ingredients to keep it as nutritious as possible.
I also love these because living healthy is not about depriving yourself of the things you like. It’s more about finding “better” versions of these things. Ok, maybe at first you will think it’s not the same but with time your palate will change and you will start preferring the healthier versions. You will also feel guilt free when you have them.
However, I think these barks will not leave you chasing normal sugary chocolate. They are amazing from the first bite.
Chocolate (dark) is also not without its health benefits. Chocolate is a superfood and amongst many other things, it is amazing for your general heart health… so now you can claim that you are eating it (in moderation) to be healthy.
Dark chocolate barks 3 ways.
The base for these barks is always the same so I will only give you the recipe for it once and then give you the list of ingredients that I sprinkled on mine.
It is also very important to get the best quality dark chocolate that you can find, it really makes a difference and it ensures that there is no added sugar and that it truly is healthy.
Ingredients for chocolate base
500 grams Dark chocolate 2 TBS coconut oil
Chop or break your chocolate into small pieces and place into a medium glass bowl.
Add coconut oil and melt Bain Marie style.
Cover a baking sheet with waxed paper and spread the chocolate evenly and as thinly as possible.
Sprinkle the ingredients below or choose your favourite.
Peanut Butter Popcorn
1/2 cup peanut butter (warmed) 1 Big handful of popcorn Handfull pumpkin seeds
Goji Berry Seed Mix
1 Handfull goji berries 1 Handfull peanuts 2 TBS mixed seeds
3 teaspoons maple syrup 40g chopped pecans
